Carpool safety

Before you travel

• Speak to the driver or rider by phone before the day.
• Agree the pickup point, time, price and payment method.
• Send the listing and your plans to a friend or family member.
• Pick a busy public pickup point rather than a home address.

At pickup and on the road

• Check the vehicle type, model and number plate match the listing.
• Wear a seat belt, or a helmet on a bike.
• Share your live location with someone you trust.
• If anything feels wrong, don't get in. Cancelling is always fine.
