Privacy
Privacy at LinqRoad
LinqRoad is built to need as little about you as possible. Here is exactly what we do and don't collect.
What we never ask for
- An account, password or profile
- Your email address
- ID documents or photos
- Payment card or bank details
- Your home address or contacts
- GPS location tracking
What you publish when you post a ride
Everything you enter on the post form is shown publicly to anyone searching: your name, phone number, pickup and drop, date and time, country and timezone, vehicle type and model, seats, price and preferences, and your notes. Only enter what you're happy for riders to see.
What we record automatically
To keep LinqRoad safe and stop spam and abuse, we store the following with each ride posted and each search made:
- IP address, and an approximate location worked out from it (country, region, city)
- Device and browser type, from your browser's user-agent
- A random device ID kept in a cookie, so repeated abuse from one browser can be spotted
- For searches: what was searched (pickup, drop, date and filters) and how many results came back
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent data to anyone.
- We don't use advertising, analytics or social media trackers.
- Place suggestions are fetched by our server, so Google receives what you type but not your IP address.
Cookies
We use one cookie, device_id, which holds a random identifier. It isn't used for advertising or shared with anyone.
Your choices
Rides stop appearing in search once they depart. To ask for a ride or your data to be removed, email hello@linqroad.com.
